Ordering, paying, and running your miner

How a Block Sheep order works, start to finish. If something here doesn’t answer your question, ask us before you send any Bitcoin. For the terms themselves, see returns & warranty.

How paying in Bitcoin works

  1. 1Prices are set in USD, charged in BTC

Every product has a dollar price. We convert it to Bitcoin at the live market rate, which the ticker in the header tracks every 30 seconds.

  2. 2Adding to cart locks your BTC amount

The moment an item enters your cart, the BTC figure is frozen. If Bitcoin moves before you check out, your amount stays put. What the cart shows is what you send.

  3. 3Checkout collects three things

Your name, your shipping address, and a BTC refund address. Shipping is added here at a flat rate per machine, so the total you see is the total you send. Use a wallet you control. Refunds sent to an exchange deposit address can be lost, so we won’t send one there.

  4. 4Pay the exact amount

Your order page shows a Bitcoin address, the exact amount, and a QR code. Scanning it fills in both the recipient and the amount in your wallet, so there’s nothing to type by hand. Send from a wallet you own.

  5. 5Paste your transaction ID

After broadcasting, paste the TXID on your order page. We verify on-chain that it paid our address for the exact amount, and re-check automatically every 10 minutes until it has enough confirmations.

  6. 6Tracking appears on your order

Once payment confirms, your order moves to Paid and then Shipped, with the carrier and tracking number on the same page.

We add a few sats to every order total on purpose. It makes your payment amount unique, so we can tell your order from everyone else’s.

Before your miner arrives

Mining hardware is hard on power, heat and noise. Sorting these out before the box lands saves a lot of grief.

Power: check your circuit before you buy

Check the wattage on the product page and confirm your circuit can carry it continuously. A miner pulls a constant load rather than a peak one, and most electrical codes want a continuous load kept at or below 80% of the breaker rating.

Many higher-wattage units expect a 220 to 240V circuit. Confirm the voltage, the outlet type and the PSU option you picked all match before the unit ships. Ask an electrician if you’re unsure. This is the most common thing people get wrong.

Heat and airflow

Air-cooled miners move a lot of hot air in one direction. Plan for intake of cool air on one side and an exhaust path out of the room on the other. Recirculating hot exhaust back into the intake will throttle performance and wear the hardware out faster.

Immersion-ready units ship drained. We don’t include dielectric fluid unless you picked it as a modification.

Noise

Air-cooled miners are loud. Closer to a shop vac than a computer. Check the noise figure in the specifications and think hard before putting one in or next to living space. A silencer shroud helps. It won’t make a miner quiet.

Network and pool

Run wired ethernet to the miner’s controller if you can. You’ll point the miner at a pool of your choice and set your payout address there. We never take custody of anything you mine.

Common questions

What if Bitcoin moves after I add to cart?

Nothing changes. The amount you owe was fixed at the moment you added the item. The cart shows what rate you locked and what the same cart would cost today, so you can see the difference either way.

What if I send the wrong amount?

Underpay and the order stays open. Your order page switches to showing the balance, with a fresh QR code for what’s left, and you paste the second transaction ID underneath. The two together settle the order. Overpay and the difference comes back to your refund address without you having to ask.

Can I pay from an exchange account?

You can, but please don’t. The checkbox at checkout is you confirming the payment comes from a wallet you control. Any refund goes to the address you gave us, and exchange deposit addresses are where refunds go missing.

How long do confirmations take?

Usually a block or two, so ten to twenty minutes, though it depends on the fee you attached and how busy the network is. Your order page updates itself while you wait, so there’s no need to keep refreshing.

Do you take custody of what I mine?

No. You configure your own pool and your own payout address. We sell you hardware and nothing more.

Ready to pick a miner?

Priced in USD, paid in Bitcoin, tested before it ships.
